Greenwich International Film Festival Launched Their First Event, More to Follow

With their first event slated for March 2nd, 2014, and many other events to follow, the Greenwich International Film Festival is picking up a lot of steam. The cosmopolitan community of Greenwich, Connecticut is set to propel itself into becoming one of the next great cities in the world for independent film and art.
The Festival's greater mission is to harness the power of film to spread awareness about important cultural and social issues while simultaneously acknowledging the power of entertainment and laughter in enhancing people's lives.
GlobalCommunicationLeader-February 06, 2014- Greenwich, CT, Planning is underway to launch the first annual Greenwich International Film Festival, an event that will highlight and showcase the works of independent filmmakers and artists from around the world. The festival is already gearing up to give everyone a little taste of what to expect from the yearly showcase. The Greenwich International Film Festival will hold its launch event on Sunday, March 2nd, 2014. An Evening with Oscar, sponsored by Moët Hennessy and Serendipity, will take place at the J House in Riverside, CT. This is the first of many events the GIFF will host, leading up to inaugural festival in the summer of 2015.

An Evening with Oscar is just one of the many events we're planning to bring cinephiles and industry professionals together in one place," says Carina Crain, Executive Officer and co-founder of the Festival. The ultimate goal of the GIFF is to attract people from all over the world, and help make Greenwich a center for independent film. The Greenwich International Film Festival has been gaining a lot of well-deserved attention throughout the Greenwich community and beyond. The festival features many prominent members of the film and finance community on its Executive Board, including screenwriter Jeb Stuart, critically acclaimed action screenwriter of Die Hard and The Fugitive, George Walker, CEO of Neuberger Berman, and his wife Nancy Dorn Walker, Today Show correspondent Jenna Bush Hager, Mark Teixeira, New York Yankees first baseman and beloved Greenwich resident, Emily Wachtel, writer, actress, and producer, and Clay Pecorin, Greenwich native and producer of such movies as The Big Wedding starring Robert DeNiro and Diane Keaton.
